Though it's hard to believe, this summer is quickly slipping away. Soon school will be back in session, and we'll sigh with regret that we didn't find time for one more adventure. So don't waste these few remaining weekends. Head to the North Georgia Mountains for a final dose of summertime fun.
No doubt, one of our area's most popular summertime activities is rafting the Ocoee River. Although rafters must be at least twelve years old, there's no need for previous whitewater experience. Rafting companies here use six-man rafts, and each raft has its own guide. They'll provide your gear; you simply show up ready for whitewater fun.
These companies do advise that you make advance reservations. And, because many of them run late summer specials, be sure to ask them about discounted trips when you call.More
